Vacature Eerstejaars Profcoach U.S.R. “Triton”

U.S.R. “Triton” is per roeiseizoen 2023-2024 op zoek naar een hoofdcoach voor de eerstejaars wedstrijdploegen. Triton is een ambitieuze studentenroeivereniging met circa 1100 leden en ruim 90 actieve wedstrijdroeiers. Triton is een van de meest succesvolle verenigingen van Nederland met bevlogen coaches, waarin de huidige structuur over de afgelopen twee decennia professioneel is doorontwikkeld, mede door de komst van hoofdcoach Coen Eggenkamp. Jaarlijks melden zich rond de 1100 nieuwe studenten aan om bij Triton te komen roeien, waarvan er uiteindelijk 300 starten. Met de eerstejaars wedstrijdsectie ambiëren we om beginnende roeiers te laten presteren in hun veld en te ontwikkelen naar sterke meerderejaars roeiers. Wij zoeken een profcoach die de leiding neemt over de eerstejaars roeiers en verenigingscoaches in het behalen van deze doelstelling.

Opdrachtomschrijving

De hoofdcoach eerstejaars wedstrijdploegen begeleidt de eerstejaars wedstrijdploegen, coaches en roeiers op technisch, mentaal en fysiologisch vlak. Dit geschiedt in nauwe samenwerking met de verenigingscoaches, de begeleidingscommissie voor profcoaching en het bestuur. Daarbij is een goede samenwerking met de huidige profcoaches Coen Eggenkamp (algemeen hoofdcoach en hoofdcoach ouderejaars) en Joeri Bruschinski (hoofdcoach middengroepen) essentieel. De opdracht omvat onder andere de volgende werkzaamheden voor 16 uur per week:

• het begeleiden en opleiden van coachkaders;
• het opstellen van trainingsschema’s en een jaarplan voor eerstejaars wedstrijdploegen;
• pro-actief meedenken over en meewerken aan werving en de afroeiperiode;
• het begeleiden van ploegen bij trainingen en wedstrijden.

Competenties

Wij zoeken iemand die ervaring heeft met en kennis heeft van:

• het succesvol begeleiden van eerstejaars wedstrijdploegen;
• het opstellen en uitdragen van een visie op eerstejaars roeien;
• het leiden en/of begeleiden van coachkaders;
• het maken van trainingsschema’s.

Wij zoeken iemand die:

• communicatief sterk is;
• goede didactische kwaliteiten heeft;
• sterk is in samenwerken (met de huidige profcoaches en verenigingscoaches);
• gestructureerd werkt;
• affiniteit heeft met de studentenroeiwereld;
• in het bezit is van RC3 (of gelijkwaardig) en de ambitie heeft voor RC4;
• zich verantwoordelijk voelt en inzet voor het niveau van het eerstejaars roeien op Triton.

De opdracht wordt aangegaan voor de periode van minimaal één jaar (één roeiseizoen) met de intentie tot verlenging bij goed functioneren. Opdracht wordt marktconform vergoed. De startdatum van de opdracht zal in overleg omstreeks begin/midden augustus 2023 zijn.

Vacancy Novice Head Coach U.S.R. “Triton”

For the upcoming 2023-24, U.S.R. “Triton” is looking for a new novice head coach. Triton is an ambitious student rowing club with approximately 1,100 members of which 90 are competitive rowers varying from novice crews to national and international athletes. Triton is one of the most successful clubs in the Netherlands with passionate coaches, in which the current structure has been professionally developed over the past two decades, partly due to head coach Coen Eggenkamp. Each academic year we accept 300 new members into the club (more than 1,000 apply) and around 40 enter the competitive section across the 4 squads (heavyweight and lightweight men/women). With the novice crews, we aim to compete in the highest level of competition and have them grow into strong development and elite athletes. We are looking for a head coach that takes the lead with crews and squad-level coaching teams to achieve this vision.

Role Description

The role involves taking care of the technical, mental, and physical development of the novice crews. The coach does this by working together with squad coaches (heavyweight womens, lightweight womens, heavyweight men and lightweight men), the board and advisory committee for profcoaching. Furthermore, collaboration with the current general head coach Coen Eggenkamp and second-/third-year head coach Joeri Bruschinski is essential for long term development of the club.

The role comes with the following responsibilities:

• 16 hours a week;
• the guidance and training of the novice squad coach teams;
• the creation of training plans and a year-long plan for the novice crews;
• providing insights and guidance on future recruitment, selection, etc.
• the coaching of novice crews at trainings and regattas.

Competences

We are looking for someone who has experience and knowledge of:

• the successful coaching of novice rowers at a competitive level;
• the creation and implementation of a vision for novice rowing;
• the guiding and leading of squad coaching teams;
• the drafting of training plans.

We are looking for someone who:

• communicates effectively;
• is an effective teacher;
• works well cooperatively;
• works structurally;
• has an affinity for student rowing;
• has official coaching qualifications equivalent to the Dutch RC3/RC4;
• is able to take responsibility for the level of novice rowing at Triton.

The role is for a minimum term of 1 year, with the possibility to extend. The position is remunerated in line with the market. We are looking for someone able to start early/mid August 2023.
